When I first started traveling around Europe, I was on a college student’s budget. That meant traveling during the off-season and making the most of summer destinations in the winter!
Portugal is frequented by hordes of tourists come June 1st and they typically stay through the start of school season at the end of August and early September. However, come November, most tourists have returned home and those highly frequented destinations turn quiet.
But, for those who don’t mind traveling during the off-season, visiting Portugal in December can actually be a magical experience! Snow isn’t common in Portugal, and in fact, it’s actually quite rare, but in certain regions where it’s more common you can enjoy winter sports and cozy cabins!
