On my first trip to the country, I remember wanting to bring home dozens of souvenirs from Ireland to show my friends and family, but I didn’t exactly have the room in my suitcase to do so.

You can find every type of cheese from those best for melting, cheddars paired with fruit, and those best for pairing with wine and dessert. My favorite place to sample cheese was on the Dingle Peninsula, where you can buy incredible sampling boxes for your trip out of town!
If you’re looking to bring a few blocks back home from Dublin, be sure to make a quick stop at Sheridans Cheesemongers – they’re one of the most famous cheese mongers in the country and are located right on Anne St. in downtown Dublin.

A personal favorite of mine, no trip to Ireland is complete without at least sampling this tasty Irish novelty! Add a trip to the Jameson Distillery on your visit to Dublin or Cork (well known for the Blarney Castle), or buy a bottle of the good stuff at any general store, supermarket, or small shop in the country!
The bottles come in different sizes (375ml, 750ml, and 1000ml), so be sure you taste it before purchasing if you aren’t typically a fan of whiskey. It’s often drunk on the rocks by the Irish, but it’s also very good mixed with ginger ale and a wedge of lime!

As we’ve already gone over, Ireland is well known for its talented citizens who are crafting artfully designed products everywhere you look! Soap, in this case, is no different.
Local shops produce everything from bath soaps to exfoliating soaps and make use of some of the best local products from Ireland. Items such as lemon, lavender, lemongrass, and hemp are popular ingredients in craft soap shops.
Outside of soap, there are also endless butters, balms, candles, and oil diffusers that can be bought in person then shipped home, or bought online and delivered right to your door!

Everywhere you go in Ireland, whether you’re in a big city like Dublin or Galway or in a small, fishing town like Cobh or Dingle, you’re going to hear live traditional Irish music playing around every corner.
We found that we chose each new pub that we visited based on the music coming out the doors (we really love Irish music) and then bought a CD if the band was selling them.
You can usually pick up the local CDs for around 10 euros and they often include many popular Irish songs such as Galway Girl, Whiskey in the Jar, and others.
Just be careful if you purchase a CD with a sticker covering. After a while, the sticker begins to peel and the CD could get stuck in your player – yes, I’m speaking from experience.
24. Locally Made Candles
Remember when I was telling you about how Ireland is home to thousands of colonies of bees and hundreds of beekeepers? Well, they also make candles in addition to their honey!
Ireland is proud to offer locally made candles from the very same bees that bring you the delicious honey in stores across the country.
The local candles, while some are infused with other products to take on a specific scent, are often made to fill the air with the natural smell of wax and sweet honey. If you’ve ever smelled a candle made of organic beeswax and nothing more, you’ll know what I’m talking about.

You can find small shamrock pendants at most tourist shops and even when checking out in supermarkets if you’re looking for a cheaper one.

27. Postcard
Now, this is probably going to be the least authentic Irish souvenir that you can buy, however, they are fun to send to friends and family members while you’re away making them one of the best cheap things to buy in Ireland.
If you plan on doing this, you have a couple of different options. First, there are the mass quantities of silly pictures or shamrock-covered postcards that you can throw in any mailbox.
Second, you can look for a hand-painted design or beautiful photo that only had a limited amount of copies produced.
While both of these are great for sending to a friend or keeping for yourself, I have a great tip for you.
Buy at least one really nice postcard (picture or hand-painted) and frame it! This will save you a lot of money on buying artwork if you’re on a tight budget and will make for an excellent addition to your home!

It’s no secret that Ireland is the birthplace of some fantastic whiskey brands, so if you’re a fan of the golden liquid, you’ll save a pretty penny buying it directly from the source.
Next on the list are wool products. Ireland is famous for its high-quality wool, and products like Aran sweaters are much cheaper when purchased from the locals. They’re warm, stylish, and authentic—a perfect keepsake!

How Can I Get My Delicate Souvenirs from Ireland Home?
You have two options for getting your delicate items home from Ireland with the first being to ship them directly from the country!
While this is typically more expensive, you can almost guarantee a much safer journey for your valuables since you can pack them according to your standards.
If you’re traveling with glass or fragile items, go directly to the post office and wrap them in bubble wrap galore before taping the box up tight and shipping it home. What a nice way to surprise yourself when you return home!
The second option for getting your delicate souvenirs home is to check them. This is the most popular way of getting your souvenirs from Ireland home, however, it isn’t always the safest.
I packed two Guinness glasses as well as several shot glasses in my backpack on my first trip home from Ireland and nothing broke.
But, that was because I was extremely careful and was able to keep my bag on my lap most of the time.
If you’re traveling with a large bottle of Jameson or a new coffee mug, be sure to roll them up tight in your clothing to prevent them from rolling around and breaking – what a nightmare that would be!
