No, unfortunately, Aldi does not have any stores in Northern Ireland. In September of 2025, Wales Online released a list of 80 new Aldi stores that they planned to open in the coming months, but none will be opening in Northern Ireland. They will all be located elsewhere in the U.K.
Although the corporation does not plan on building new stores in the area, there is a large public outcry on starting one up to support the locals for obvious reasons: it’s a popular supermarket with a strong consumer base.

Whenever I travel, I aim to balance my desire of tasting local dishes and authentic recipes with cooking for myself to refrain from spending an entire paycheck just on food.
While I was missing my typical Aldi run that I was used to doing in the Republic of Ireland and the United Kingdom, I actually found Lidl to be a fantastic replacement market and I spent barely a few euros more than I felt like I normally would at Aldi.
So, overall, I wouldn’t worry too much about there being a lack of Aldi storefronts in Northern Ireland.
You always have the option of taking a road trip down to Ireland or bringing back some of your favorite goods the next time you stop in London!

Being as similar as they are, it may seem strange that Lidl has over 40 storefronts in Northern Ireland but Aldi doesn’t have any.

The fierce competition and substantial expenses involved in setting up, training personnel, and stocking their shelves have led the renowned chain to believe that it would be venturing into an exceedingly saturated market.
